How to apply for a first appointment with Dr. Coombs
- N.B.- Dr. Coombs does not make appointments for patients through third parties (i.e., well-meaning relatives, or other health practitioners. Parents of young or disabled children are the obvious exception.) Dr. Coombs does take patients on referral, but the patient has to take the initiative to make the appointment his- or herself.
- Because preference is given to young children with autism,
new adult patients are limited to those whom Dr. Coombs is most likely to be able to help with his approach to functional medicine.
- Telephone the office and give the receptionist a very brief description of your situation.
If your medical issues seem to be one that Dr. Coombs can help, you will be asked to write a more detailed outline of your medical issues, and send this to our office for review by Dr. Coombs by e-mail, regular mail, or fax.
- Dr. Coombs will review your letter,
usually within a week or two, and have his staff either contact you for an appointment time (wait time is presently at least 3 months for adults), or pass on his suggestions as to who would be more appropriate to look after your medical condition.
